"Floridali" (Flora Dalinae), set of 10 on Japon nacre, with original calf skin folder with title embossed in gilt on the uppers, with original subscription solicitation pamphlet
etchings with pochoirs printed in colors on Japon nacre paper, 1968, each print signed in pencil by Dali, numbered 11 from the first 75 released set on Japon nacre, each print and title sheet tipped to a spine place holder. Total recorded edition on all papers, 408., Published by Jean Schneider, Basel/Michelle Broutta, Paris; printed by Rigal, Paris for the etchings, and Ateliers d'Art l'Ibis for the Pochoirs.

  • Condition: In very fine condition, the works never framed or extensively exposed to light with the colors fresh and bright. With some occasional slight toning at the very edges of the sheets. Some soft handling creases at the corners typical of the paper. The portfolio case overall in very fine condition. The original acetate protective sheet wrapped around the case mostly intact.
  • Sheet: 30 1/4 x 22 in ( 77.0 x 56.0 cm )
  • References: Recorded and illustrated in the standard references on the original graphics of the artist by Field-68-3 (A-J), Michler and Lopsinger, Nos. 227-236.
  • Note: Remarkable for its rarity and condition as for the stunning character of the imagery. Comes with original publisher's sheet describing the publication pre-release.

    The ultimate Dali connoisseur item.

Apparently only a few early numbered sets of these prints were "tipped in". The works were better protected when "tipped in" as otherwise the sheets had a tendency to become misaligned when loose and often were creased when the portfolio was closed if not handled properly.
