mixografia in colors on handmade paper developed by Tamayo and roughly 1/4 in. thick, with the with the Mixografia blindstamp, 1977, signed in white crayon by the artist lower right ,
numbered 47 from the edition of 100, As published by Taller de Grfica, Los Angeles.
- Condition:In very fine condition, the full sheet with a few minor nicks at the edges attributable to the Mixografia process. Framed in hand wrapped linen matting, with print set into the recessed area of the opening.
- Sheet: 19 x47 inches (49.5x120.5 cm)
- References: Recorded and illustrated in the standard text on the original graphics of the artist by Pereda No. 242.
- Framing: Framed in accordance with accepted conservation standards, acid free mats and mounts, removable hinging.
- Note: Galaxia is by far the most ambitious and best-known of the Mixografia works by Tamayo. It stands apart for its critically esteemed subject matter, size, its ambition, and its graphic quality.
